Wellbeing Statement and ELSA Referral Form
The well-being of our pupils is something that our school strives hard to ensure and we continue to work hard to provide ways to help you tell us if you or your children have any problems or worries which the School needs to know about.
As a school we are continuously looking for new ways for our children, families and staff to get the best outcomes in life. One of our main priorities is to continue to improve our Wellbeing and Mental Health provision. We pride ourselves in being at the forefront of government agendas and believe that we are able to offer support to both children and their families around Mental Health and Wellbeing.
To further enhance the support we currently offer every pupil in school, Mrs Croft (SENCo) and Miss Dimmock (PSHE Lead) are taking the lead to further develop Mental Health and Wellbeing ,as well as working with Mrs Archer, our specialist teaching assistant, to help provide any additional social or emotional wellbeing support for any pupils and/or families who feel that they may benefit from it. This support is flexible and tailored to meet each child’s needs; it could consist of one session, weekly or daily visits. We offer 1:1 support along with group work and drop-in times for both our pupils and, if requested, their parents/carers.
We have developed a Werrington Wellbeing Room where we support our pupils and their families and work more closely together in workshops. We offer a range of workshops for families focusing on healthy lifestyles, wellbeing, mindfulness, positive relationships, social media, etc. We hope to work with the wider community to strengthen important links around Wellbeing and Mental Health.
Talking and reporting issues is a very effective way to enable us to deal with concerns before they escalate. We understand that sometimes, coming into school to tell us about any issues cannot always be an easy thing to do.
